Ingredients
Roasted yaupon leaves, peaches. Contains caffeine.
First of all, what is yaupon?
Yaupon is a tea with a rich, largely unknown history. It has deep Indigenous roots... posed a threat to King George III, and slowly died a reputational death in the early 20th century.
Yaupon is a type of holly and North America's only caffeinated plant. It's native to southeastern United States, growing from the coast and to the west as far as Texas.
What does yaupon taste like?
Unlike camelia sinesis (the plant that produces black, green and white tea), yaupon as no tannins. It's the tannins in black tea that make it bitter. Yaupon instead has a more mellow, earthy flavor.
About our Yaupon Peach Tea
This is a blend of roasted yaupon leaves and sweet, fragrant peach. It's part of a limited edition collaboration with Carytown Teas, a tea boutique in Richmond, Virginia. Naturally caffeinated and deeply refreshing.
How do you drink it?
Our Yaupon Peach Tea can be consumed hot or cold. It doesn't need a sweetener but a bit of honey or turbinado sugar wouldn't hurt if you have a sweet tooth.
