The History of Virginian Teas explores the history and rich traditions behind tea in our area.
This is our basic lunch-and-learn Package for up to 20 people.
In this class, you'll learn:
- How Indigenous communities in Williamsburg and the region used plants like yaupon, blackberry leaf, and passionflower for ceremony, healing, and daily life
- The ways enslaved Africans adapted their own botanical knowledge using unfamiliar North American plants to create medicinal teas and wellness practices
- Elements of the early tea trade and its impact on Virginia
What is included with the Basic Package:
- A 45-60 minute interactive presentation
- 4-5 Tea samples with palate cleansers

This is a brown bag session that does not include lunch.
